GO DEEPER
Our team partnered with The Pennsylvania Horticulture Society to create a heartfelt intergenerational story about the flowers we pass down. This mixed media commercial, shot on 500T 35mm + 200T 35mm, 500T & Ektachrome 8mm Film, follows a woman transported through decades of memory as she prepares flowers for a family gathering. It is a story about how love, like a flower, keeps growing long after it’s planted. The spot was even highlighted by Kodak for our commitment to shooting on film.
SHOOTING ON FILM
“In a digital world, analog inspires intention and trust. I’m always searching for a feeling when creating images and something about film seems more human to me. The entire process just feels true. It seemed fitting to shoot a flower commercial with a format that takes precision, commitment and patience. Shooting on film allowed us to cultivate an authentic feeling of nostalgia and textured realism. We shot this commercial over 2 days on Kodak vision 3 500t 5219 with the arriflex 535b paired with a set of Arri Master Primes. The more I shoot on film, the more I fall in love with this format.”

A NATURAL COLLABORATION
Our creative collaboration with JTWO was a natural fit from the start. We brought them a detailed vision which they deftly guided off the page and into the sparkling, nostalgic sunshine of the garden. However, to assume that beauty and emotional resonance is the assured outcome for anyone making a spot like this would be a mistake. Essential to communicating our layered story of memory, connection, and time was the ability to shoot in various film formats and a nuanced approach to editing. Both assets were available to us thanks to JTWO and the expert crew they assembled.
